Soccer Match: Automatic Control and Systems Theory vs. Product Development
On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, our group's soccer team faced the Product Development Group in an epic soccer match that has been overdue for a long time. Although we prefer the results to be treated confidentially, we enjoyed this game very much and we're looking forward to all soccer matches to come!

Professor Gunter Reinig, who was head of the chair from 1998 to 2009, has been awarded the honorary doctorate by Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology. RUS participates at the "Woche der Umwelt" 2016
The RUS project on smart and efficient control of pumps was selected from a large number of projects across Germany to attend the "Woche der Umwelt" 2016 at the official residence of the Federal President at Bellevue Palace. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Leonow will demonstrate the innovative concept on a smart pump prototype.

Staff day
On 7th of October 2015 our chair went to the climbing forest in Wetter. After the physical effort, the day ended with a guided tour in the private brewery Moritz Fiege, where we've been able to observe the industrial conditions for control of fermentation processes.

New research project at RUS
RUS starts the new research project "Reduction of the control power range of renewable energy using innovative simulation-based control theory", which is funded by the European fund for regional deployment. The project is carried out together with MAN Diesel & Turbo SE and involves the plant-wide optimal control of solar power plants.

RUS to organize two invited sessions at IFAC World Congress
Two invited sessions on embedded predictive control have been accepted for the 18th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control. The sessions are co-organized by researchers from the K.U. Leuven Optimization in Engineering Center, Imperial College and University of Genoa.
