Are drones causing stress?

First studies launched

Together with the Chair of Work, Organizational, and Business Psychology led by Prof. Kluge, the Chair of Automatic Control and Systems Theory is investigating the influence of drones on the cognitive abilities and stress perception of knowledge workers.

The first studies with the volunteers took place in the ZESS flight laboratory operated by the chair of Automatic Control and Systems Theory. In the immediate vicinity of autonomously flying drones, the volunteers should solve tasks that can also arise in normal everyday work and require a high degree of concentration. In addition to assessing the subjective feelings of the volunteers themselves, saliva samples to measure the cortisol level should provide information about the stress generated by the drones. These are analyzed in cooperation with the Department of Cognitive Psychology of Prof. Wolf. The knowledge gained is now being evaluated and will be published soon.

Test persons solving tasks while drones are flying nearby.
